Cave Country HOG Chapter - Blood Drive/Angel Tree/Bell Ringers/Chapter
Meeting
1. Don't forget to come to the Harley store on November 8th to help
save lives by donating your blood. If you can't or don't want to donate your blood, please still come and volunteer
your time to help those that are donating. We also need people to bring snacks such as cookies, brownies, crackers,
etc. There are many time slots still available to donate, so come out anytime between 9am and 2pm.
2. Also, last year
we had a cold but heart warming ride from the Harley store to the Salvation Army to take them presents for the "Angel
Tree" program. I will have the Angels available at the Blood Drive for those that would like to participate
again. For those that aren't familiar with the Angel Tree program, you get to pick an Angel that has a
child's name on it along with their request for Christmas presents. You buy presents for the children, attach
their name/number to the presents (unwrapped), then we will have a truck available to carry the presents behind those brave
enough to ride their bikes to the Salvation Army. Last year only 3 were brave enough to ride their bikes AND they
were all women! The ride will probably be sometime the 2nd week of December so there is plenty of time to shop.
The children come from low income families and this year the Salvation Army will probably get more children than usual
due to increased unemployment rates. We are so blessed in our lives, that we don't need more things for Christmas,
but would be more blessed by giving to others!
3. We have been asked again by the Salvation Army to ring bells
in the Mall, as we have done every year. The date will be December 4th from 10 am - 8pm, so we need many volunteers.
There are two locations - in front of Dillards and in front of JC Penny. If you can give up 1 hour of
your time on this date, please email Michelle Bowlin at mymccoy@bellsouth.net, Kathy Ellis at ke2bfree@insightbb.com, or contact Robert Brown 846-4488 at the dealership. Please indicate what time you would
be available. 4. Our next Chapter meeting will be November 18th at the dealership and we are asking for
you to bring your best chili for everyone to try. This isn't a cook off but a way to give John and Evelyn
a break from cooking us food every meeting. We are pretty competitive, so there may be those that think that theirs
is best - we will see!
Thanks,
Michelle Bowlin
